Our Mission is to promote the human-animal bond and the humane treatment of animals through public education and pet adoptions.
Animal Friends Connection began in 1990 as an educational, rescue and adoption agency. In January 2000 we opened a Cat Shelter/Sanctuary and in 2004 started Sheltering dogs too. Since that time we have added dogs kennels and a nice exercise yard. Our Shelter currently houses up to 40 cats and 35 dogs at any given time. While we are primarily a volunteer organization, our Shelter would not be able to function without staff. The animals need to count on being fed twice daily and receive medical care. The public needs to be able to count on us to show them dogs or cats needing to be adopted. We are also there for those that need to re-home their pets or that find animals that need help. Many of our animals are in foster care or rescue homes.
We are dedicated to providing shelter, promoting spaying and neutering to the public as well as spaying and neutering our own animals and providing medical care to those in need.
We are committed to furthering Animal Welfare Education and adoptions throughout the greater Lodi – San Joaquin area, as well as at local community events, partnering with other organizations, and working with our local animal control agencies. We believe every creature deserves compassion and fair treatment.
As I watch them interact daily, while either chasing each other from one end of the yard to the other. Or just snuggling each other while at rest, to cleaning each-others ears; I am so thankful to have been able to keep them together! Randy can attest to how persistent I was in adopting them. You even allowed me to take them home the day after the had been fixed. They were meant to be together and they were meant to be with our family.
Looking for a companion for myself and my mildly disabled adult daughter. Pets are great therapy for those with disabilities. Nikki appears to be very sweet and lovable. I believe she will be a great companion for both of us and provide great comfort for my daughter. We will likely look into Nikki as being a therapy dog for my daughter. My husband has training in dog obedience and is a holistic health care practitioner for animals.
Emma is perfect for our family. My husband and I work at home and have a quiet atmosphere. Emma has that quiet and mellow personality that we like. She also is a very loving and wants to held, and seems like a dog wanting to be apart of the family.
