Your Memorial Donations and other Donations to Animal Friends Connection are deeply appreciated.  All donations help us to keep our Sanctuary open and to provide daily care as well as medical care for all of our animals.  Your donations HELP make a difference and can save a life.

AFCHS is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) charitable organization serving San Joaquin County & the surrounding areas of the greater San Joaquin. We are located at 933 S. Cherokee Lane, Lodi CA 95240.

• Dry dog food, Kirkland Chicken & Rice dry dog food (red bag)
• Kirkland  from Costco Natures Domain canned dog food
• Cat Food – Kirkland dry cat food or Blue Buffalo dry
• Friskies canned cat food and other higher quality canned cat foods – Wellness canned for kittens
• Treats for Cats and Dogs (please made in the USA only) – Nutro Greenies are a good treat for cats (not for dogs)
• Four foot leashes for the Dogs
• Collars that are for small Dogs (size‛s 7-11 and 11-14) we have plenty of large dog collars
• Smaller but thicker twin-size blankets for the dogs that sleep inside
• Small blankets for the cat beds (heavier baby blankets work well)
• Toys for Cats and Dogs (toy‛s that have a squeaker in them for the Dogs but no stuffing)
• Cozy adoption blankets for the dogs and cats (thick enough to cuddle up with)
• Cat litter – “Litter Perfect” from Costco, or other high quality litter
• Cleaning products such as bleach ( we go through at least 24 two gallon bottles of bleach every month)
• Laundry detergent, Pine-sol – mops, brooms- squeegee
• Paper towels and toilet paper
• A handy-person willing to donate time. We need repairs inside and outside, as well as electrical work
• Van to transport our dogs and cats
• Land or a house with a little property, located (if possible) between Stockton and Lodi for a permanent adoption center/shelter. We have outgrown our location.

Cash donations are the easiest and most common charitable gift. As a registered nonprofit organization, a donation to AFCHS of up to 50% of your adjusted gross income is tax deductible. A donation in excess of 50% of your adjusted gross income can be carried over five years.

Donations of appreciated property (such as mutual funds, securities, and real estate) carry extra tax benefits. You can deduct the fair-market value of property and you can also reduce the capital gains tax. You can deduct the fair-market value of the property up to 30% of your adjusted gross income; similar to a cash gift, any excess can be carried over for five years. The capital gains tax can be reduced as long as the property has been held for over one year.

A gift annuity is the transfer of a specific amount of money, securities, or real estate in exchange for a regular payment for the rest of your life and/or the life of a loved one. The charitable portion of the gift can be claimed as a deduction and a portion of each annuity payment is not taxed as income.

We rely on the generosity of our members to meet our day-to-day expenses, such as pet food, utility bills, and office supplies. By building a strong endowment fund, we will be more capable of meeting our operational expenses. Donating to the Endowment Fund will help give AFCHS a secure future.
